The mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

At Christ Church, we accomplish that mission through a simple but significant, three-step process:

experience God's love in worship, develop relationships in small groups and revive the world through service.

Christ Church was started in 1965 as an outreach church to northwest Davenport. We've always been the kind of church that isn't afraid to get our hands dirty serving in the community, working alongside those in our community who need a hand-up. We started out meeting in bowling alleys and clubs before we had a building. When we finally built in 1967, it was a simple, practical building. As our church has grown and the building expanded, one thing remains the same: it's never been about the building, we've always been about people.

What's the bottom line? Now, more than ever before, we are focused on meeting the needs in our community with Jesus. We will continue to partner with Buchanan Elementary School and Fairmount Pines apartment complex, where we can come alongside families and children who need support in their education, help building skills, and much more.

We'll continue to come alongside our missionary partners to minister to children in poverty abroad.

But more than anything, we're a group of imperfect people working together to be more like Jesus.
